This is Shakespeare's most well-known and beloved play, filled with some of the most unforgettable characters in world theater. Productions of this play have been put on almost constantly since it first appeared sometime around 1596 and it remains one of the favorite plays of Shakespeare lovers until this day. After HMT's successful past summer productions of The Tempest and Macbeth, this summer Paul invites you to perform with us in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream using an abridged 90 minute performing edition he will create (all of Shakespeare's words - just less of them), with a public presentation on the last day of class. The production will be fully staged and students are expected to be off-book for the performance. Shakespeare is FUN and COOL and no one should ever be afraid of him. Come join us for this exciting opportunity, whether you've been in one of Paul's Shakespeare classes in the past or you are exploring Shakespeare for the first time. HMT endorses color blind/gender blind casting. Ages 12-19
