Steamer No.10 Theatre is a 120 seat theatre located in the heart of Albany at 500 Western Avenue, where Madison and Western divide, just 2.9 miles East of the Northway. Parking is available in the Citizens Bank parking lot.
Steamer No.10 produces and presents 120 to 150 performances each year for children and families. We are the only professional theatre in the Capital Region whose mission is the creation of Theatre for Young Audiences. Our Kids Fare program uses professional actors in the creation of the shows with students from our CAST program filling in some of the roles for younger performers.
Vacation Daze is our School’s Out series taking place between Christmas and New Year’s (Holiday), President’s week – February, and the April break. We bring in professional performers for family audiences from throughout the North East. Performers include magicians, puppeteers, jugglers, mimes, marionettes, musicians and more.
Our Theatre Arts School - CAST - Creative Arts at Steamer Ten works with students 7 to 17 producing three to five theatre productions each year. Students fill all the roles both on stage and back-stage. We have found that the students want to be in shows, not class. We don’t tell them that they will be learning what they need to know during rehearsals.
