Reading the Winter Woods Guided Hike

Practice winter plant identification, look at tracks and other signs to interpret the activities of local fauna, and talk about the historic relationship between local Native People and the land.

Reading the Winter Woods. Join us for an exploration of the forest in wintertime! Ethnoecologist Justin Wexler of Wild Hudson Valley will guide us on a leisurely walk around Lincoln Pond to practice winter plant identification, look at tracks and other signs to interpret the activities of local fauna, and talk about the historic relationship between local Native People and the land at this season of the year. 

Please dress appropriately for the weather with sturdy boots and comfortable clothing. Suggested Donation: $5 members, $10 non-members. Registration required; capped at 20. https://www.huyckpreserve.org/events.html
