Celebration of Community at Clermont
Explore the new exhibit, enjoy family-friendly activities, and nibble on refreshments in the Visitor Center. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, please join us for a Celebration of Community at Clermont. Learn about the Livingston family, and the enslaved men and women, native communities, servants, and other underrepresented groups who lived and worked at Clermont. Check out our award-winning exhibit, Redefining The Family: The Livingstons and the Institution of Slavery in our Visitor Center and enjoy a free tour of the mansion. Clermont State Historic Site is part of The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation’s Our Whole History Initiative, which seeks to bring a more balanced historic narrative to public awareness, enriching our state’s history and the stories we share throughout the Parks and Sites. Through ongoing research and new interpretations, Clermont seeks to create a more inclusive environment, more reflective of our multicultural past and welcoming to all. There is no charge for this family-friendly event. You do not need to register online for this event, however, you MUST check in at the Visitor Center prior to your tour. Because of the capacity of the mansion, tour size is limited.
