2017 Summer Camp Days at the Museum

There will be Three weeks of kids camp, July 11th to 13th, July 18th to 20th & July 25th to 27th. Each week we will have something different. *Thanks to all of our Sponsors camps are now free* Space is limited- Please register by 7/7

 c   Harlem Renaissance!     July 11th to July 13th from 9:30am to 12:00 pm

   We will study Jazz and African American Art, Music, Poetry & Writing. We will be painting on Easels while listening to Jazz music and learn about brush strokes while playing records on phonographs in our collection.  We will study African Tribal masks and each make one of our own.  We will learn about Cubism and make our own Cubism inspired art work

c  Colors, Reflections & Kaleidoscopes!     July 18th to July 20st from 9:30am to 12:00pm

 

      We will be learning about the history of the Kaleidoscope and making one of our own to take home. We will also be looking at our collection of flags and making our own personal flags with fabric. We will try our hands at making colorful mobiles to hang at home. We will use mirrors to study reflections and paint one another and ourselves through our reflections.

 

c  Art Around the World!     July 25th to July 27th from 9:30am to 12:00pm

 

      We will study and make Mexican Oaxaca sculptures, Chinese mandalas, rock art, prints and rubbings and mosaics after looking at all the Scales, Tails & Feathers in our Natural History collections.
